We believe that rightly understanding the Word of God (the Bible) is essential to everything we do. God has revealed Himself to us through the words of scripture and we want to take that seriously. Calvary Restoration is committed to the tenets of historic orthodox Christianity. This informs our vision, mission, core commitments, and practices as a church. DOCTRINAL DISTINCTIVES
Calvary Church stands in the tradition of historic evangelical confessionalism. The following five distinctive theological convictions serve as foundations for who we are as a church and how we seek to carry out our mission and vision.
We are passionate about Gospel centrality.
We believe the gospel is the good news of what God has graciously accomplished for sinners through the sinless life, sacrificial death, and bodily resurrection of his Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, namely our forgiveness from sin and complete justification before God; this gospel is also the foundation for our confidence in the ultimate triumph of God’s kingdom, and the consummation of his purpose for all creation in the new heavens and new earth. This gospel is centered in Christ, is the foundation for the life of the Church, and is our only hope for eternal life; this gospel is not proclaimed if Christ’s penal substitutionary death and bodily resurrection are not central to our message.
This Gospel is not only the means by which people are saved, but also the truth and power by which people are sanctified; it is the truth of the Gospel that enables us to genuinely and joyfully do what is pleasing to God and to grow in progressive conformity to the image of Christ. The salvation offered in this gospel message is received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; no ordinance, ritual, work, or any other activity on the part of man is required in order to be saved.

We enthusiastically embrace the sovereignty of God’s grace in saving sinners.
We affirm that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, not on the basis of foreseen faith but unconditionally, according to his sovereign good pleasure and will. We believe that through the work of the Holy Spirit, God will draw the elect to faith in his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, graciously and effectually overcoming their stubborn resistance to the gospel so that they will most assuredly and willingly believe.
We also believe that these, the elect of God whom he gave to the Son, will persevere in belief and godly behavior and be kept secure in their salvation by grace through faith. We believe that God’s sovereignty in this salvation neither diminishes the responsibility of people to believe in Christ nor marginalizes the necessity and power of prayer and evangelism, but rather reinforces and establishes them as the ordained means by which God accomplishes his ordained ends.

We recognize and rest upon the necessity of the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit for all of life and ministry.
The Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and Son, whose primary ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; he also convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ and imparts spiritual life through regeneration (the new birth). The Spirit permanently indwells, graciously sanctifies, lovingly leads, and empowers all who are brought to faith in Christ so that they might live in obedience to the inerrant Scriptures.
The model for our reliance upon the Spirit and our experience of his indwelling and empowering presence is the Lord Jesus Christ himself who was filled with the Spirit and entirely dependent upon his power for the performance of miracles, the preaching of the kingdom of God, and all other dimensions of his earthly ministry. The Holy Spirit who indwelt and empowered Christ in like manner indwells and empowers us through spiritual gifts he has bestowed for the work of ministry and the building up of the body of Christ. We recognize that these gifts are divine provisions central to spiritual growth and effective ministry and are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to biblical guidelines.

We are deeply committed to the fundamental spiritual and moral equality of male and female and to men as responsible servant-leaders in the home and church.
Both men and women are together created in the divine image and are therefore equal before God as persons, possessing the same moral dignity and value, and have equal access to God through faith in Christ. Men and women are together the recipients of spiritual gifts designed to empower them for ministry in the local church and beyond. Therefore, women are to be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to utilize their gifting in ministry, in service to the body of Christ, and through teaching in ways that are consistent with the Word of God. Both husbands and wives are responsible to God for spiritual nurture and vitality in the home, but God has given to the man primary responsibility to lead his wife and family in accordance with the servant-leadership and sacrificial love characterized by Jesus Christ.
This principle of male headship should not be confused with, nor give any hint of domineering control. Rather, it is to be the loving, tender and nurturing care of a godly man who is himself under the kind and gentle authority of Jesus Christ. The Elders/Pastors of each local church have been granted authority under the headship of Jesus Christ to provide oversight and to teach/preach the Word of God in corporate assembly for the building up of the body. The office of Elder/Pastor is restricted to men.

Calvary Church embraces a missionary understanding of the local church and its role as the primary means by which God chooses to establish His kingdom on earth.
The church has a clear biblical mandate to look beyond its own community to the neighborhood, the nation, and the world as a whole; thus mission is not an optional program in the church but an essential element in the identity of the church. We are called to make Christ known through the gospel and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to bring his lordship to bear on every dimension of life. The primary way we fulfill this mission is through the planting of churches that plant churches, and the restarting of declining congregations, along with the training of their leaders.
Our aim is that Jesus Christ would be more fully formed in each person through the ministry of those churches God enables us to plant and restart in Denver and around the world. We also believe we are responsible neither to retreat from our culture nor to conform to it, but with humility, through the Spirit and the truth of the gospel, to engage it boldly as we seek its transformation and submission to the lordship of Christ.

I am passionate about making gospel connections and engaging with culture through great films and literature. I enjoy hanging out with my wife and three young boys and seeing how God uses the family unit to reach Aurora and the ends of the earth for His kingdom. BRIAN HASBROUCK
After 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Brian has seen a lot, from small-town America to bustling big cities. This diverse journey has given him a unique perspective on the power of the local church and a heart for building Christ-like character in every community he touches. If you’re looking for Brian, you’ll likely find him in the middle of a conversation. He loves people and believes the church should be the most welcoming place in town.
Now navigating a busy career in the tech industry and raising a family, Brian knows how important it is to slow down. He’s a fan of the simple life— sharing a meal, hanging out in the backyard, or heading up to the mountains to reset.

CHRIS GRENZ
Chris is married and the grateful dad of three kids. Jesus saved him during a season when he was searching for truth, and that rescue continues to shape everything he does.
He serves as a Pastor/Elder at Calvary Restoration, where he loves teaching God’s Word and walking with people as they grow in Christ. Outside of ministry, you’ll usually find him spending time with his family, coaching, playing or watching sports and enjoying music.
Chris is passionate about helping others discover the same life-changing truth he found in Jesus and becoming joyful, passionate disciples.

SKYE BAILEY
Skye is one of the pastor Elders of Calvary Restoration with a love for theology, a head for philosophy, and a steady hand for acrylics. When he isn't teaching, training or running AV, he’s likely contemplating the mysteries of the universe over a neat pour of whiskey. He invites anyone to join him for a chat about faith, philosophy, or the best way to color a canvas, just don't ask him to choose between them.

TJ SWANSON
TJ Swanson finds great joy in the opportunity to serve Calvary Restoration as an elder. He believes healthy churches are God’s ordinary means of leading his people to the infinite blessings of the gospel, and loves contributing to that cause in whatever way he can. TJ is a learner to the core — and is always eager to read books and have discussions that increase collective understanding of God, his word, and his world.
Day to day he provides dental care at his office in Aurora (he’s always happy to give second opinions!), pursues his impossible pipe dream of becoming a professional pickleball player, and, most importantly, happily spends time with his wife and three kids.

DEBORAH CENDEJAS
Deb has been with Calvary Restoration since its inception. She had no idea what a church plant was at the time, but realized it took a dependence upon God to show an early church what to do. Her prayer life grew exponentially. They relied on each other to do what was required, and she thrived. She was no longer just going to church; she was the church! She is now a Deacon who serves on the Hospitality and Prayer Teams, but her favorite thing to do is to lead a Discipleship, Nurturing, and Accountability (DNA) group once a year.

JEREMY JORDAN
Jeremy, a Deacon at Calvary Restoration, serves on the financial team, manages the budget, assists in AV Sundays, and occasionally takes on the role of a journeymen photographer. Outside of his church duties, he cherishes quality time with his family, engages in meaningful conversations around a campfire, enjoys hiking, reading, and occasionally indulges in video games

JODI HASBROUCK
With a passion for spiritual growth, Jodi serves Calvary Restoration across multiple departments, including Women’s Ministry, A/V, our Connections Team, and collaborates with women from other CFC churches. She is driven by helping individuals recognize and celebrate their God-given identity.
Her personal mission extends into her professional life as a Life Coach and a spiritual mentor for professional athletes. At home, Jodi is a dedicated mother and active school volunteer. To recharge, she leans into her creative side, enjoying various craft projects that reflect her love for making things new.

GENEVIEVE WUTZKE
Genevieve previously served in campus ministry with Athletes in Action NorCal where she developed a deep love for building Christ centered relationships and creating spaces where people feel welcomed. She enjoys creating environments where people can gather, grow in their faith, and experience authentic community. Outside of her role, Genevieve loves cooking for others, getting outside in the Colorado sunshine, and serving her home as a wife and mother.

TANNER SWANSON
Tanner works from home as a wife, mother, and editor for Desiring God. She loves that God’s word can become sweet to the tastebuds of adults and children alike. If she isn’t reading, she’s building castle-forts for her toddlers, running around the neighborhood, or baking (with chocolate, without fruit). One of the joys of her family’s life is belonging to the body of Christ at Calvary Restoration.
Worship Leader
MATTHEW LIN
Matthew, male 32, gets a kick out of seeing people walk in true authenticity with God and with each other, and he is stoked that his role as the worship ministry leader lets him use music and prayer to help foster that connection. His greatest source of inspiration is the ocean and, if permitted, will never say no to a breakfast burrito.
